Which Rolex Watch Does The Dalai Lama Wear

Rolex Watch Blog

Yes, it is true. The Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism, wears a Rolex watch, and he has worn a Rolex ever since he was a boy. The challenging question to answer is what kind of Rolex watch the Dalai Lama has worn and maintained for so many years. In the pictures of the Dalai Lama wearing the Rolex watch, only the back of the bracelet is evident.

According to the accepted tale, the American President Franklin Roosevelt gave the Rolex watch to the Dalai Lama. It is a known fact that Franklin Roosevelt wore a Rolex Day-Date. At the time, the Rolex Day-Date was not known as the Rolex Day-Date Presidential. The latter designation was assumed only after Rolex gave a Day-Date to President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Before the Day-Date officially became presidential, Franklin Roosevelt wore the Rolex watch in the White House. Putting two and two together, it makes sense that the President would give the young Dalai Lama a Rolex Day-Date. Since Roosevelt died in 1945 and the Dalai Lama was born in 1935, the Rolex watch was given to a mere boy. The Dalai Lama has maintained the Rolex watch in excellent condition for over half a century. How has he been able to perform such a remarkable feat?

Rolex Watch Blog

As historian Ron Gluckman writes: “Since childhood, the Dalai Lama has been an incorrigible tinkerer. He still has a Rolex watch given to him by U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt — a credit to his do-it-yourself skills.” Being a lover of fine machinery, the Dalai Lama naturally fell in love with his Rolex watch. Since the beginning, Rolex has been at the forefront of watchmaking in terms of artistry and precision. Rolex founder, Hans Wilsdorf recognized two major requirements for watches: 1) To keep accurate time, and 2) To be reliable for which Rolex has been recognized for almost as long as watches have been worn. Such quality clearly was recognized by the Dalai Lama at a young age when he already showed signs of the spiritual leader he would become.

In 1990, Teresa Watanabe observed in the Los Angeles Times, “The Dalai Lama is motivated by kindness and love, and his broad appeal hardly seems more complex than that. He seems caring, people say. He seems genuine. He lives simply, wearing a maroon and saffron robe every day. His one apparent luxury, a Rolex watch, was a gift from Franklin Roosevelt. He actually seems to practice what he preaches, the rare leader who has managed to stay untarnished by any hint of personal scandal.” Like how the Rolex watches, which he loves, have come to represent the very best in luxury watches, the Dalai Lama has come to represent the very best in humanity. In a strange way, it makes perfect sense that such a man would choose to wear a Rolex watch. Still, we wish to know without any question or doubt, what model of Rolex is on the wrist of the Dalai Lama? Is his watch a Rolex Day-Date, or is it another one of the stunning Rolex watch models?

Rolex Watch Blog: Rolex Diamond Watches

Rolex Watch Blog

The sturdy and solid diamond is the perfect symbol for the determined, strong-willed Zodiac signs of Aries and Taurus that represent those born in April. Such people are lucky to have the diamond as the symbol of their birthday. The diamond is also the traditional gift for the 10th and 60th wedding anniversary. Also, you can purchase luxury watches like a Rolex bejeweled with diamonds. This desirable stone has been treasured and worn by royalty for over 3000 years and is still considered to be the ultimate gift of lasting love.

Diamonds are a mineral and are created when carbon is compressed and exposed to extreme heat deep within the earth’s core. It can take a diamond over one-billion years to make its way to the earth’s surface after it has been formed. Diamonds are mined and found in streams and riverbeds. There is no substance on earth that is harder than a diamond. Diamonds can only be cut and polished by other diamonds and are the most durable stone in the world.

Diamonds come in a variety of colors other, such as yellow, pink, red, blue and green. Originally found in India, diamonds were eventually discovered in Brazil and Africa. Ninety-percent of the world’s diamonds now come from Africa, found in riverbeds and in mines.

The word “diamond” comes from the Greek word adamas meaning “indestructible”. Ancient Greeks believed diamonds were the “teardrops of the Gods”, while the Romans thought diamonds were “splinters of stars fallen to earth”. In early years the diamond was worn only by royalty in an unpolished form. Kings would stud their breastplates with diamonds for both decoration and protection. Since it was believed that wearing diamonds protected the wearer from malicious intent, kings would not be attacked during battle for fear the attacker would suffer terrible consequences.

The diamond symbolizes power and strength and is said to give the wearer traits of generosity and courage. It is also a talisman to protect the wearer from poisoning, although it is believed that diamond dust is poisonous to eat. This belief, however, may have come more from the desire to refrain miners from hiding diamonds in their mouths in order to steal them. In the Middle Ages it was believed that diamonds could heal disease by placing them in bed to warm up against the suffering.

The use of the diamond to symbolize love did not begin until 1477 when Archduke Maximilian of Austria presented a diamond ring as a gift of betrothal to Mary of Burgundy. Since that Royal moment, the diamond has become the symbol of eternal, everlasting love that is given as a promise to love a spouse forever. Diamonds have been set in rings, in ear rings, in necklaces, as well as in high end luxury watches such as Rolex. A diamond-studded Rolex is truly a modern symbol of luxury and class.

The perfect cut for a diamond is the 58-facet round brilliant cut, but diamonds are cut in many popular shapes such as the pear, emerald, heart, marquise, princess, and oval cuts. When choosing a diamond you should look for the clearest stone with the highest quality of clarity. The more perfect the diamond, the higher it will be valued.

The diamond is the most valued stone on earth and is the ideal symbol for those who celebrate an April birthday. Whether you are looking for a birthstone gift or want to give your partner the perfect symbol of your love, a diamond is the ultimate gift you can give.

Rolex Watch Blog: Rolex Datejust

Rolex Watch Blog

Rolex has been one of the most luxurious watch brands for over a century. Its expertise in the field of watch making has made it the most sought after brand in the world of timekeeping. People feel extremely proud to own a Rolex. Over the years, Rolex has innovated many models, all of which have delighted their consumers. But none of these models are as representative of the company as the Role Datejust.

The Datejust was introduced in 1945 to mark the 40th anniversary of Rolex. Over the years, many changes were made to this model to keep up with the technological advancements in the watch industry. The earliest Datejust models were introduced with a coin edge bezel, which was later replaced by a new fluted bezel along with a larger crown. In the mid-50’s, Rolex introduced the Datejust with the cyclops-the magnifying bubble that is placed over the date on the watch’s crystal. In 1956, Rolex released a Datejust model called the “Thunderbird” that featured a Turn-O-Graph gold bezel.

Other significant changes made to the Datejust Rolex - making the model even more popular - are:

* The Quick-Set feature. This was added to the watch and allowed quick adjustment of the date function without turning the crown over and over again.

* The new sapphire crystal, in place of the old domed plastic crystal. This allowed better waterproof security and scratch resistance, thus improving the aesthetics and durability of the watch.

* The old pie-pan dial was discarded to match the smaller and slimmer profile of the newly introduced sapphire crystal.

* The smaller version of Datejust – the Oyster Date was introduced.

Today, you get both the Rolex Ladies Datejust and Mens Rolex Datejust at a size which is 80% of the original Datejust. The Two Tone Datejust models are also quite popular. The immense success of Datejust Rolex has led to the introduction of stainless steel, white gold and platinum models apart from the usual 18kt yellow gold. To make Datejust Rolex go with the recent trends, the options of a Jubilee bracelet, an Oyster bracelet and a leather strap are also made available.

Matt Damon Wears and Gives Rolex Watches

Rolex Watch BlogRolex Watch Blog

Matt Damon believed in Rolex in the beginning, and such loyalty has remained even beyond the marketing deals of his successful film series. No matter what kind of watch the producers give Jason Bourne, Matt Damon wears a Rolex in his private life and gives Rolexes as incredibly generous gifts. But even Amazon.com knows Jason Bourne should be wearing a Rolex as expressed in a review of the last film on the Amazon site that, “with careful attention to detail and a plot that works like a Rolex, Ultimatum’s unrelenting pace never feels overblown.” The comparison makes perfect sense because no other luxury watch has both the dedication to quality and the record of accomplishment of a Rolex. When it comes time to surprise old friends, Matt Damon remembers this truth about the legendary wristwatch.

In 2002, the following story was reported in the London Sun: “Matt Damon went to a college reunion – and bought each of his 36 classmates a £2,200 Rolex watch. The Hollywood heartthrob’s generous gesture cost him almost £80,000. A pal said: “He wasn’t showing off – he just wanted to let friends know he hadn’t forgotten about them. It was a shock when he turned up. Everyone thought he would be far too busy hob-nobbing with the rich and famous.” What kind of Rolex Matt gave his classmates remains a mystery, but his generosity remains admirable and impressive.

Rolex Watch Blog

In his own life, Matt Damon wears a vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer 1016, perhaps the most collectible of the Rolex watches. In the shot at the poker table, Matt wears his Rolex Explorer. After reviving the poker movie genre and poker in general with Rounders, Matt became an avid player in his private life. He wears a Rolex at the tables because the watch reminds him of the precision and focus needed to win when playing against the very best.

Matt’s Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer 1016 has “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” written above the six o’clock marker. Fitted on a Rolex solid link oyster bracelet, the watch has a black matte dial and is powered by a Rolex caliber 1570 rotor automatic. In a recent photo shoot with GQ, Matt is wearing another Rolex, but the only identification the magazine supplies is, “Watch by Rolex.”

Rolex Watch Blog

At the beginning of the 21st century, AskMen.com noted that, “Matt Damon is reportedly set to become the new face of Rolex watches. Sources claim the hunky actor is currently in talks with bosses about signing a lucrative deal to advertise the luxurious watches. A source said: “He’s hugely popular and would be brilliant as the face of Rolex.” Unfortunately, such a deal was never consummated, but Matt’s belief in and dedication to Rolex has never wavered, and the actor continues to wear and give the watches to this very day.

Lance Armstrong and His Rolex Embrace Fatherhood

Rolex Watch Blog

Is there any athlete in the world whose endurance and strength of character reflect the quality of a Rolex watch than seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong? A Rolex connoisseur with a preference for both the Rolex GMT Master II and the stainless steel Rolex Daytona, Armstrong has overcome testicular cancer not only to return to cycling, but also to embrace fatherhood again. Before Christmas, Armstrong happily announced to the press that his beautiful girlfriend Anna Hansen is pregnant. Armstrong told the Associated Press, “Anna and I are thrilled to confirm that we are expecting in June. We are very much looking forward to what 2009 brings on many fronts.” A Program Manager for First Descents, Anna Hansen loves nothing more than being outdoors on her mountain bike. As ideal as Armstrong’s connection is with Rolex watches, his relationship with Hansen appears to be an rare example of perfection.

After being diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1996 that had spread to his lungs and brain, Lance Armstrong was given less than a 50% chance of survival by his doctors. Facing the challenge of his disease with the endurance and fortitude of a Rolex watch, Armstrong survived surgery and several brutal cycles of chemotherapy. Armstrong and his former wife Kristin had three children using in vitro fertilization with sperm he had banked before his chemotherapy. Amazingly, Armstrong returned to win the Tour De France seven straight times until he retired in 2005. Astounding the world once again, Armstrong announced in 2008 not only his return to competitive cycling, but also the coming arrival of a new child through the means of a natural conception. After relationships with Sheryl Crow and Kate Hudson, Armstrong has found happiness with Hansen. The question now is whether he can find the fortitude to win an eight Tour de France in 2009.

Rolex Watch Blog

Although Armstrong often wears a stainless steel Rolex Daytona, his favorite Rolex watch always has been the Rolex GMT Master II.The 50th anniversary edition of the GMT Master II was revealed at BaselWorld 2006. This new model features a number of technical enhancements, such as Rolex’s patented Parachrom hairspring as well as a larger Triplock crown. The new model also has several cosmetic improvements such as larger hands and a new bezel made of an extremely hard ceramic material, which greatly resists damage and discoloration.

Rolex Watch Blog

With his decision to enter the Giro d’Italia and return to competitive cycling, Lance Armstrong received a warm reception from the Italian cycling community. Perhaps nobody in Italy has a closer bond with Armstrong than Ivan Basso, who still recalls how the American took time away from the pursuit of his 2004 Tour de France victory to help Basso’s mother fight cancer. Rolex always has been a company that has shown a balance between technical genius and philanthropy. Lance Armstrong truly reflects the best of Rolex in both his personal and professional lives.

Genki Sudo’s Birthday Present - A Rolex GMT Master

Rolex Watch BlogRolex Watch Blog

Genki Sudo, the Japanese K-1 Champion and Ninja Warrior Actor, was given a Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT Master for his 30th birthday by his father. In his Suki MMA online blog, Genki Sudo wrote: “The item I choose is a Rolex watch. I went to see my parents and told them about buying it. My dad said, you did great in your 20’s and I will pay for it.” Although MMA fighters are reputed to be as tough and brutish as their chosen sport, Sudo revealed true class in his choice of such a fine Rolex watch, living up to his nickname of the Neo-Samurai.

The all stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT Master has a very attractive black dial with red and blue bezel and neatly contrasting red GMT hand. The bezel is the popular black and red combination. The watch is bi directional and ratchet operated with an automatic movement featuring the hack mechanism (second hand stops when crown is pulled out to set the time – a standard feature on all genuine Rolexes). Moreover, Genki Sudo’s birthday present has luminescent hour markings and hands, a sapphire crystal, and is completely water resistant. Indeed, it is the sign of a truly proud Japanese father when his son receives a Rolex for his birthday. Like Rolex, Genki Sudo has done well and excelled in his chosen field.

Rolex Watch BlogRolex Watch Blog

Without question, Genki Sudo’s father has every reason to be proud of his son, the Neo-Samurai. When his son enters the ring or the cage, he carries a flag that proclaims amid a tapestry of the flags of the world: “We Are All One”. Sudo’s signature moves are the spinning triangle and the flying backfist. Sudo has fought in three UFC events and won twice. The question is whether he will return to the UFC wearing his new Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT Master and take on the UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva. If Silva and UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar are not already wearing Rolex watches, when are they going to honor their belts and wear the watch that has stood for and continues to stand for the very best in the world? Of course, another intriguing question is what kind of Rolex these two great Champions would choose for themselves?

Daniel Craig Rolex Watch

Daniel Craig chooses to wear a Rolex Submariner 6358, even to interviews for the new Bond film Quantum of Solace. When playing James Bond in the film, however, Daniel Craig wears an Omega. Now what exactly is going on here?

With Quantum of Solace predicted to rake in over $60 million dollars on opening weekend, the producers of the new James Bond may not be worrying about the maverick approach of the new 007, Daniel Craig. Then again, maybe they should be listening to the wisdom of their chosen star and honor a great legacy.

Why is Daniel Craig a maverick? Although James Bond wears an Omega in the new films, Daniel Craig chooses to go against the grain of his producers and wears a classic Rolex Submariner 6358 to his interviews and in his personal life. Since Ian Fleming wrote in the original novels that his character James Bond wears a Rolex and Sean Connery always wore a Rolex Submariner 6358 in the early classic films, Daniel Craig pays tribute to these cultural icons by wearing a Rolex. At a recent GQ photo shoot, the entire wardrobe was styled for Daniel Craig, except for one key element: “Watch by Rolex, Craig’s own.”

In addition, at a recent Current.com interview, the writer described Daniel Craig’s entrance like this: “As 007 walks into the room, his charming smile breaks for a second – his right arm is dangling in two black slings. “My shoulder was at the doctor”, he jokes, offering his left hand (adorned with an old Rolex). “Sorry!” And The Daily Mail in the UK commented on the lifestyle choice of the new James Bond: “Daniel Craig owns a version of the original Rolex Submariner worn by Sean Connery in Dr No.”

Even if Omega named their new watch after James Bond and was willing to pay a bundle for the product placement, maybe the producers should respect the awareness shown by their star of the true legacy and history of their character. Throughout his time as 007, Sean Connery was equipped with the Rolex Submariner, which has just celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, and Ian Fleming clearly chose Rolex as the watch worn by his creation. “Daniel Craig likes to tell a story about his watch. It is a Rolex Submariner 6358, an exact replica of the one he remembers Sean Connery wearing in Goldfinger.” (Empire Magazine). Now is the time for the producers of James Bond to follow the lead of their star and honor the legacy of Ian Fleming and Sean Connery — Give 007 back his Rolex.

Agent Ari Emanuel Give Orlando Bloom His Rolex Datejust

Flying across Hollywood that Endeavor’s Ari Emanuel played against the grain of his tough-as-nails reputation in a moment of extreme generosity and gave his $10,000 Rolex watch to rising star Orlando Bloom after the actor admired it. Was Ari Emanuel trying to steal Bloom away from agent Kevin Huvane at CAA? Did this classic moment between an agent and an actor actually happen or is it just more Hollywood hot air?

To place everything in context, Ari Emanuel is the brother of President-Elect Barack Obama’s new Chief-of-Staff Rahm Emanuel, and a founding partner of the Endeavor Talent Agency. Emanuel is loyal to his Rolex Stainless Steel Oyster Turn-O-Graph Datejust with the Blue Dial. Mark Wahlberg is one of Emanuel’s biggest clients and the producer of HBO’s Entourage, which is based on his experiences as a star. Wahlberg based the character of superagent Ari Gold, played by Jeremy Piven, on Emanuel.

Like his agent, Wahlberg is a huge Rolex enthusiast, and he wears a Rolex YG-GMT-II with the famous Green Dial. Premiere clearly illuminated Mark Wahlberg’s history with his Rolex: “Wahlberg has barely touched his corned beef hash. He checks his watch, a gold, anniversary edition Rolex with a green face that he picked up in Vegas. “I bought one for Rhea too,” he says, only half joking when he adds, “I told her, ‘I got you something so you’ll let me play golf for a month without any kind of argument.’”

In the past, Orlando Bloom has worn classic Rolex watches in his photo shoots for magazines. In Bloom’s GQ shoot, the credit is as follows: Vintage watch (without band): Rolex. After seeing all the other Hollywood stars like Mark Wahlberg wearing Rolexes, did Bloom want one as well? It is clear that when Orlando Bloom bumped into Ari Emanuel at a gourmet restaurant, the actor admired Emanuel’s Rolex Datejust. Explaining the agent’s normal demeanor, his fan site states, “Emanuel commonly is referred to in Hollywood circles as being competitive, aggressive and, at times, obnoxious.”

When Orlando Bloom gushed over his Rolex Datejust, did Emanuel experience a moment of true generosity and give the actor his watch? On the other hand, was the superagent just trying like Ari Gold in Entourage to win over another major client to his agency? We may never know whether the Rolex giveaway happened, and, if it did, what was the story behind it? In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we will hope it was a moment of true generosity when Ari Emanuel gave Orlando Bloom his Rolex Datejust with the Blue Dial.

Antiquorum's Thematic Sale to Mark Rolex 100th Anniversary

Antiquorum's Thematic Sale to Mark Rolex 100th Anniversary

In 2008 Rolex celebrates its 100th anniversary of its watches. Antiquorum Auctioneers, the leading auction house for timepieces in the world, will mark the centenary of the brand through holding the one-of-a-kind sale 'Revolution: The Evolution of the Rolex Sport Watch'. The event will take place on April 17th at Antiquorum's US headquarters located at 595 Madison Avenue, New York City.

The Rolex brand is famous worldwide as it revolutionized the concept of the sports wristwatch, having developed the Rolex 'Oyster' that was destined to become the first water-proof and air-tight wristwatch to have withstood Mercedes Gleitze's swim across the English Channel. Having accompanied the courageous swimmer during his amazing swim that lasted 15 hours, the timepiece still provided perfect functionality. This remarkable feat marked the birth of the true sports watch.

The invention of the groundbreaking Rolex Oyster was followed by the development of a whole army of other remarkable timepieces, with the Explorer, the Submariner, the Turn-o-Graph, the Milgauss, the Cosmograph, the Sea-Dweller, and the Explorer II highlighted on the list. The above-mentioned Rolex watches were found among the first timekeepers to be developed for specific professions or recreational pursuits.

100-year-history of the Rolex brand vividly demonstrates its continuous evolution and product development. The sports watches worn by present-day customers have been created as a result of the brand's dedication to progress.

The upcoming sale to be held on April 17th at Antiquorum will be dedicated to the remarkable evolution of the Rolex sports watch. It will also feature the impact the revolutionary Rolex 'Oyster' case has had on the entire watchmaking industry. The Antiquorum sale will be highlighted by the best available Rolex watch models representing the historical development of these remarkable timepieces, Rolex 'SBS' Submariner Ref. 5517, Rolex Comex Ref. 168000, Rolex 'Turn-O-Graph' Ref. 6202 and many others.

Rolex: A Great Watch Brand

New Audemars Piguet Chronograph for Alinghi Team

Audemars Piguet has recently introduced a new watch to join its Alinghi series. The timepiece pays tribute to Team Alinghi, the Swiss yachting team that won the America's Cup in 2003. Team Alinghi will be defending the America's Cup at the races in Valencia, Spain, starting June 23. The company has sponsored the team since 2002.

The novel Audemars Piguet creation is called the Royal Oak Offshore Alinghi Team Chronograph. Following the steps of the brand's Polaris launched in 2005, the new chronograph is equipped with a flyback chronograph and countdown regatta timer.

The watch's peculiarity is the fact that it is partially produced from forged carbon. The forged carbon represents a carbon fiber that has been put inside a mold, compressed at a high temperature under pressures over 300 kilos per cubic centimeter. The first watch variation features the forged carbon case and bezel. The other two variations have forged carbon bezels and cases produced from platinum or rose gold.

The Audemars Piguet watchmakers have opted for forged carbon as it is shock-resistant and characterized by chemical stability, including corrosion-resistance. The material's one more advantage is its light weight - the forged-carbon-case model weighs as little as 100 grams. The brand's specialists developed their own method of forged carbon production entirely in-house at the manufacture facility in Le Brassus, Valee de Joux. The eight-sided shape of the case with sharp angles and smooth finishing made their task really complicated.

The first glance at the Team Chronograph will make one notice a few nautical or Alinghi inspired details. The shape of the hands on the chronograph counters reminds the prow of a ship. The watch's dial sports a combination of red accents matching the red color of the Alinghi logo - a red swirl placed at 3 o'clock.

The titanium case back reveals an original relief depicting the Alinghi team during the race. The bezel of the model, the same way as the bezel on every Royal Oak model, is octogonal-shaped and features tiny screws, thus associated with a porthole of a ship. The timepiece goes on a black rubber strap.

In the heart of the Team Chronograph there beats the self-winding AP caliber 2326/2846 operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The countdown timer allows the team members to keep track of the all-important 10 minutes prior the sounds of the starting gun. It is found on the right part of the dial.

As for the flyback function, it gives the watch's wearer a chance to stop the chronograph, return it to zero and start it again at once just with one push of the push-piece featured at 4 o'clock. The push of the same button also starts the countdown timer.

All variations of the Royal Oak Offshore Alinghi Team Chronograph are developed in limited editions - 1,300 models with forged-carbon cases, 600 models in rose gold and 107 in platinum.

Meteorite Rolex Does Exist

Meteorite Rolex Does Exist!

I consider myself to be a rather down-to-earth person. But when I heard the information I'm going to share with you I've immediately understood that miracles exist. How else is it possible to explain a watch made of meteorite? Unbelievable, isn't it? Though it's true.

Ok, I'll explain you from the very beginning. So, Rolex Watch Company was extremely popular.

It was a cherished dream of everybody to have a Rolex on the wrist.

But at sunset of the XX century it became evident that a consumer satiated with technological novelties. Of course the Company wanted to sell its watches as hot-dogs for hungry people that's why they felt a necessity to invent a new advertising trick. And Rolex has been successful in it.

And to tell you the truth their idea was amazing! Just imagine: in 1988 Rolex launched the first and unique watch made of ... meteorite! Unbelievable, isn't it?

The case and watch crystal represent a finished piece of a small cosmic traveler. What other kinds of miracles can skilled craftsmen perform? There are no limits for human inventiveness and genius, agree?

Of course Rolex Cosmograph Daytona is not a watch to be worn on your wrist. A museum or a reliable lock box of a passionate collector is a right place for it.

But you know what? Rolex has managed to produce the necessary effect by this unusual watch.

Rolex Watch Model: Ladies Rolex President

The Ladies Rolex President are the top of the line watches. It is the most expensive line of Rolex watches and thus the most prestigious. They come in all platinum, 18 karat white gold or 18 karat yellow gold. You could choose anyone of them depending on your personal taste. The one featured on your right is made in 18 Karat White Gold with a Blue Diamond Dial. It has a High Polished Bezel. This particular bracelet is an all 18 Karat White Gold Jubilee Bracelet. The Jubilee Bracelet has two different polish to it. The center of the links has a High Finish and the sides have Matté finish. Now the beauty of Rolex is that you can change the dial, the bezel, the bracelet and almost everything you see on the exterior of the watch to what you like. Let me explain this. If you do not like a blue diamond dial, then you have the choice of changing it. It also comes in white with or without the diamonds. You also have the choice of having arabic numbers or roman numerals on the face. If you do not like the Jubilee Bracelet then you can change that also into an Oyster Bracelet. The Oyster Bracelet has a more sporty look to it and hence available with Rolex's line of sports watches. The Jubilee bracelet on the other hand is more like a dress accesory than for sports. Once again personal taste is the matter. If you like the Oyster more than the Jubilee then there is nothing wrong with that. When worn on the wrist they both look good to me. The Oyster Bracelet is featured in the following pages if you want to compare it with the Jubilee.

The two watches at the bottom are Lady's Presidents. The difference as you can see between them is that one is White Gold and the other is Yellow Gold. As I mentioned before, you can play around with Rolex watches. The perfect example are these two. The one in White Gold has Diamond Lugs and a Diamond Bezel. As compared to the Blue Face which has a high polish bezel and no diamond lugs. The White Gold One has a Diamond Jubilee Dial. When examined closely you will see Rolex written all over the dial. I personally don't like it. It is like flashing the name all over if somebody is looking at your watch. The Jubilee Dial is more like a "Flaunting Dial". I like a subtle and decent look. The Yellow Gold President has a Roman Numeral Dial. The Bracelet is the Yellow Golf Version of the Jubilee Bracelet. Once again, Diamond Lugs and Diamond Bezel. The pictures do not do justice to the actual watches. My favourite combination for the Lady's President would be the White Gold President with Roman Numerals. The watch must have a diamond dial and diamond lugs. The price is high but the watch for a Lady is an epitome of Success. A woman wearing such a watch would definitely have style and class.
